Hey everyone!
I don’t often get a chance to make puns with my work, but, well… there it is.
In all seriousness though, I want to ask you guys—what is it about fantasy art that pulls you in? Why are we compelled to make it, and why do we consume it every day in the form of books, film, TV, and visual art?
I’ve been getting into some fantasy fiction myself recently, and it inspired me to create this piece during a recent Live Stream. It’s so vital to me to be immersing myself in content like that, to lose myself in a beautiful fictional world every now and then. It compels me to visualize it, every character, landscape, and scene, and eventually, it compels me to paint it.
I just wanted to ask you to take a moment to think about times in your life or your childhood when you perhaps spent more time in these fantasy worlds — in books, or movies, or even just on your own out in the woods. Remember what it was like to just lose yourself in your imagination and let everything else go.
And if you find that this experience is lacking in your life, I encourage you to seek it out—find authors, filmmakers, artists, musicians, and others who create content like this every day, and immerse yourself in their work.
Challenge yourself to take a dive into the world of fantasy art.
Thank you all so much for being a part of my fantasy art circle, and I wish you well!
By the way, you can find prints of the work above by clicking on the picture, or see the full length live painting walk through here.
All the best,
Eben
